About Dr. Fonseca
Shane Fonseca qualified in 2001 from a medically based university programme in South Africa and first practised in Dublin between 2002 and 2005. In the years that followed he worked and studied in several countries, with a particular interest in how different traditions of healthcare approach problems of the spine, muscles and nerves.
He opened his own Dublin clinic in 2016 and has run it the same way since: honestly, carefully, and with the aim of getting people better without an operation.
The clinic sees patients with herniated and degenerative discs, sciatica, pinched nerves, spinal stenosis, neck and upper back pain, trigger points, failed back surgery syndrome, and pain, numbness or tingling that travels into the arms or legs.
Every condition is looked at on three levels, because lasting relief usually means addressing all three.
The muscles
The muscular involvement and soft-tissue factors behind pain or restricted movement.
The joints
Restoring healthy joint mobility through gentle, specific hands-on care.
The discs and nerves
Disc and nerve involvement, addressed with targeted, non-surgical therapies.
